Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has designed a logo for the IC-embedded module “MAGICSTRAP®” for RFID* tags. We aim to promote the MAGICSTRAP® brand through the active use of this logo in the future.
Since its introoduction in 2008, MAGICSTRAP® has been designated as a strategically important product for our company, and we have actively worked to expand sales of this product. This logo was created to identify MAGICSTRAP® and RFID as a Murata product and technology, increasing market awareness of MAGICSTRAP® and differentiating this product from the products of other companies.
| RFID | Radio Frequency Identification. An identification technology that uses NFC (Near Field Communication) technology utilizing electromagnetic fields or radio waves to enable the exchange of information from tags embedded with identification information. This technology makes it possible for small components to be embedded with information that may be read from a distance. Unlike barcodes, RFID technology requires no line of sight between tag and reader, allows for numerous tags to be read simultaneously, and makes it possible to change tag data. RFID technology is beginning to be used to keep track of inventory during distribution and monitor work-in-progress during manufacturing processes. |

We aim to have this logo displayed on all applications that use MAGICSTRAP®. Using the MAGICSTRAP® logo in conjunction with the Murata company logo will help to identify MAGICSTRAP® and RFID as a Murata product and technology.
The German company PAV has selected MAGICSTRAP® for use in the card-type tags used for its access control systems, and the product sample shown below bears the MAGICSTRAP® logo.

Introduced by Murata in 2008, MAGICSTRAP® is a tag for RFID applications that utilizes UHF. With a read range of 5m, it can be attached with insulating adhesive, and offers long-term reliability and reflow oven compatibility. For more information, please refer to:

The MAGICSTRAP® logo design is based on the concepts of ‘connections’ and ‘expansion’. The MAGICSTRAP® itself is represented in the five individual parts of the black mark, which when viewed as a whole appears as the ‘M’ of ‘Murata’ and ‘MAGICSTRAP®’. The versatile and unique capability of MAGICSTRAP® to be used with a wide variety of items considered incompatible or impossible in the past is symbolized in this smoothly interconnecting logo mark.
Represented in the letter ‘M’ is the vast expanse leading to the future, and embodied in this logo is our hope that MAGICSTRAP®, a product capable of accommodating the many changes taking place in our world, will allow us to offer more expansive possibilities for pleasure and satisfaction in our daily lives.
