Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
President/ Statutory Representative Director: Tsuneo Murata

EVC series capacitor for power electronics, developed by Murata Group (hereafter called Murata), has been awarded an Electra Award in the “Passive & Electromechanical Product of the Year” category.
Excellent technologies and innovations in the field of electronics are awarded at the Elektra Awards hosted by Electronics Weekly, a British technological magazine catering to the largest number of subscribers in the industry. The Elektra Awards are given to products representing excellent European technologies and innovations in the field of electronics in 15 categories annually.
This year, Murata’s ceramic capacitor for power electronics won an award in the “Passive & Electromechanical Product of the Year” category.
Murata will continue to provide innovative products as an innovator in the electronics industry.

EVC is a monolithic ceramic capacitor series specialized for power electronics.
Conventionally, film capacitors and aluminum electrolytic capacitors have been used in power system electric circuits of electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles. Murata developed new elemental technologies to commercialize ceramic capacitors usable in power electronics applications. Replacing conventional capacitors by ceramic capacitors makes equipment smaller and able to handle high currents. EVC series was introduced in KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) used in F1 racecars. Murata intends to widely promote solutions taking advantage of excellent potentials of the EVC series.
