Many people think of electromagnetic interference
(EMI) as disturbance in TV and radio waves. However, with the
emergence of RF technology, today's EMI often appears in various
situations caused by digital devices interfering with each other.
One example is common mode noise appearing in differential transmission
signals passing through USB cables. Delicate and precise noise
suppression technology that suppresses higher harmonic waves
occurring from mutual interference between bi-directional digital
signals, yet does not disturb the signal waveform is required.
Murata is tackling this new interference problem of the new
era by developing new technology such as a line of noise suppression
components for various circuits, conducting field experiments
at one of the largest electromagnetic anechoic chambers in the
industry, and releasing noise suppression simulation software
for users. |

Orb-like graphic patterns representing
signal waveform are called eye patterns. In a common mode choke
coil the interference is suppressed while maintaining the signal
waveform. |
